Position Overview

You will participate in the development and maintenance of GasDay’s core product software. You will work as part of a small, nimble Agile team that follows the Scrum methodology closely. You will not only develop software solutions, but also automate the workflow to test and deploy our product. In addition, you will spend time continuing to stay current in the latest patterns and processes, and will use that knowledge to mentor GasDay student employees participating on the GasDay Product Software Development Team.

Our backend stack: F# • C# • Sql Server • ASP.NET Web API • Azure
Our frontend stack: Typescript • React • Redux • Webpack • NodeJS

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Implement mathematical models to forecast natural gas demand
2. Develop and maintain the software to distribute forecasts to our users via a web app and other methods
3. Review software written by coworkers and students for correctness and maintainability
4. Contribute to the architecture driving GasDay’s core products
5. Breakdown PBIs, forecast their effort, and plan the steps to their completion (as a member of the software development team)
6. Develop and maintain internal tools used to configure and test customer software configurations.
7. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 5 or more years of experience

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience writing software with an emphasis on readability and maintainability
• Experience with a functional-first programming language (F#, OCaml, Haskell, Scala, elm, lisp, etc.)
• Experience with modern front-end development frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
• Experience with cloud computing (such as with Azure)
• Experience with multiple architectural paradigms such as reactive programming, message-based concurrency, classical design patterns, etc.
• Experience with automated build tools such as TeamCity, Travis CI, etc.
