Position Overview

The Department of Biological Sciences at Marquette University is expanding its strength in Ecology & Environmental Science and seeks a candidate at the Assistant Professor level to start in August 2018. Preference will be given to candidates who are testing broad conceptual issues in Ecology using field-based data collection, with an emphasis in Ecosystem, Community, Population, or Physiological Ecology. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience, with a demonstrated potential for high quality research and teaching. The Department is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong, extramurally funded research program, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and teach graduate and undergraduate courses in ecology. Teaching responsibilities commensurate with those of a junior faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Earned doctorate or a terminal degree. Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and high quality research.
