Position Overview

The College of Nursing invites candidates with clinical expertise, strong teaching and leadership skills, and a program of research in acute care nursing to submit applications. This position requires excellence in teaching in undergraduate and graduate nursing, program coordination skills to lead the Adult-Older Adult Acute Care Advanced Practice graduate program, and an ongoing program of research. Specifically we are seeking a candidate with certification as an Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Duties and Responsibilities

Program coordination of the graduate specialization – Adult-Older Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Classroom, online and clinical teaching. The responsibilities of the successful candidate include a commitment to continued development of excellence in teaching, scholarship and service.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Earned doctorate or a terminal degree. Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and high quality research.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Clinical expertise in advanced practice acute care nursing, clinical and classroom teaching skills appropriate for graduate, program coordination and leadership skills, and an ongoing program of research.
PhD or equivalent degree, Master’s degree in nursing, eligibility for Wisconsin licensure, certification as Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, and commitment to undergraduate and graduate clinical teaching. Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and service. The candidate should be forward thinking and committed to preparing the next generation of nurses for excellence in practice.
